Ramiro Coronado

Ramiro Coronado age 63, of Reno Nevada (formerly of Adrian) passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Brookdale Northwest Nursing Home. He was born June 4, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan, to Thomas Z. Coronado and Evangelina (Perez) Nieto.  Ramiro enjoyed rock 'n' roll music, golf, skiing in Lake Tahoe, playing softball, watching Tigers baseball whenever he visited family in Michigan, watching the Reno Aces and San Francisco Giants baseball, and riding his motorcycle.  He always looked forward to the good comida when he visited family in Michigan, especially his late mother’s arroz, frijoles, and migas. Ramiro was a very generous and outgoing man, always ready for his next adventure. He was a man of many talents and seemed to try everything from being a DJ to being a respiratory technician, to serving his country in the U.S. Army, spending time as a roadie in Nashville, Tennessee, for Crystal Gayle, and many other entertainers, and finally spending the most time as the Entertainment Director at Circus Circus Casino in Reno.  He had many close friends in Reno and loved his family and friends here in Michigan very much. He is survived by one daughter, Angela (Coronado) Brown (Chad) and two grandchildren, Taylor and C.J.; one brother, Victor Coronado (Patty) of Tecumseh; two sisters Lupe (Tonche) Ralph and Mary Vargas (Oscar), both of Owasso; many nieces and nephews; and his uncles and cousins in Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Juan R. Nieto, and his brother Ricardo Coronado. Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service for Ramiro will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at J Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Highway in Adrian Michigan. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service. A private burial service for the family at Lenawee Hills Cemetery will immediately follow the memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made out to Angela Coronado Brown to assist with funeral expenses
