Robert E. Wilson

Robert E. Wilson, Jr., age 86, of Tecumseh, formerly of Westland, passed away January 23, 2017. He was born January 7, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA the son of Robert E. and Margaret (Campbell) Wilson. On June 21, 1958 in Detroit, MI he married Charron L. Icenogle. She survives. Bob was a graduate of Cooley High School, Class of 1949. He was also a graduate of Lawrence Technological Institute in 1953 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Bob was a Corporal in the U.S. Army serving from 1953-1955. He was employed as an engineer with Ford Motor Company from 1955-1997.  Bob was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, where he was a member of the choir. In addition to his wife Charron, Bob is survived by his children, Kevin (Robin) Wilson of Trenton, LeeAnn (Jim) Mull of Tecumseh, William (Rebecca) Wilson of Westland, Diane (Jim) Dormal of South Lyon, and Robert (Adela) Wilson of Stratford, VA; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kathrine. The Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 30, 2017, at St. St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler presiding.  Military Honors will be performed by the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.  Rite of Committal will take place at Brookside Cemetery Colombarium at a later date. Visitation will be on Sunday January 29, 2017, from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM.  Robert will lie in state on Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Lenawee.
