Mark Richard Spohr
December 2, 1959 ~ August 11, 2017 (age 57) 57 Years OldMark Richard Spohr died at Beaumont Annapolis Hospital on August 11, 2017 in Wayne, MI at the age of 57. Mark is survived by his mother, Mary Spohr, of Garden City, MI, two siblings, Paul Spohr (Amy) of Flat Rock, MI and Julie Spohr (Lois) of Wayne, MI, and by numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Bruce M. Spohr of Florida. Mark was born on December 2, 1959 in Detroit, MI to Bruce and Mary Spohr. He attended Garden City West Senior High and graduated with a GED in 1977. He endured a blessedly brief marriage while in his early 30’s. Mark had a varied professional career, working at Moody’s Landscaping, B & R Maintenance and he was most proud and satisfied with his stint as a driver for Hegira/ The Works. Over the years, Mark enjoyed the company of his cat BoBo, who unfortunately passed away in 2015. He had a long time dear companion in Cathy Fogel, and his numerous friends and family members will long fondly think of him as a friendly, kind, obstinate, demanding, charming, difficult and handsome man who will be most remembered with an abundance of love, impatience, admiration and wistfulness. Mark was an accomplished naturally gifted artist who could produce wonderful pieces with an easy flair, a noted storyteller, (if at times long -winded) and he possessed a clever wit and infectious laugh. Mark was a a generous individual, dedicated to his family and wide circle of friends. His many loves, in no particular order included: music, hockey, food, coffee, friends, outer space, old memories, his devoted mother, Checkers, the Clubhouse, electronics and singing the occasional Old Spiritual in a delightful deep voice. A bright light has been diminished with Mark’s untimely passing, and there is a gathering planned for a later date to celebrate and reminisce about his unique and valuable life. He is, and will be, forever missed.
