Judy,
My heart is broken for you and Kelli and Jay and your entire family. There never was a better teammate or friend than Larry. The laughs, the smiles and the days we just shook our heads made our years working together just the best. I so wish I could have been with you for Larry's celebration this past weekend and give you a big hug. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are coming your way from Mazatlán Mexico where Bob and I now live. Larry was so special and touched so many....We will miss him always.. Love, Jody

So sorry for your loss Judy, Kelli and Jay, I wanted to write you from BLFAC about Larry. I remember him as a very quiet, well spoken gentleman. He was always aware of what was happening in the world and locally. He was well read and had a definite opinion that was based on facts. He had a knack of judging the positive aspects of a person. Larry was a knowledgeable, caring educator; a leader; a dedicated, loyal servant to his township & church, and most importantly a loving husband, dad and grandpa. My thoughts are with all of you.

Judy and family,
I was so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. He was a kind man, a forward thinker, and a caring teacher, and he expected that of others. On the surface he could be a bit grizzly, but underneath he was a "teddy bear". I appreciated that about him. Tecumseh schools and Lenawee County, if not beyond, has benefited greatly from his influence. He will be sadly missed. My deepest condolences.

I just randomly saw in the paper that Mr. Crittenden had passed and I just wanted anybody that cares to know that he was an important person to me, even if it was only for a short time long ago. I left town and did not know him after high school. I was a rebel in high school and skipped a lot of school, mostly heading of to Ann Arbor to study the things that I cared about at the time music, philosophy, art, girls, etc. The standard practice was that truant students had to make up all those hours. One of the classes that I did enjoy was Mr. Crittenden's, because of his ability to draw the real stories out of history, this was interesting to me. He taught me to look deeper at the world. Although I doubt I was a good student by any means in his class, when I came to him at the end of my semester and asked for his help to make up the huge amount of time for skipping school, which was literally impossible to accomplish in the allotted time, he gave me an opportunity to do this that no other teacher in the school would allow. He also gave me a speech about my potential that i have never forgot. His presence at this time in my life helped me to get through a difficult time and out of high school and head off to college without issue. I've told this story to many throughout my life and credit him with being the first who helped me see beyond myself and the moment to a grander vision, which has become one of my favorite parts of life, I am glad he was there. Condolences

I will always call him Mr. Crittenden ever since having him for a teacher in the 11th grade American History class. He was very knowlegable on many subjects and always very wise. His one drawback was that he was a Republican, but I enjoyed sparring with him on politics and always in good fun. I will miss him, but the memories will live on forever. I offer my condolences to his wife , family, and his many many friends.
