We were lucky to have Charlie as our brother-in-law for almost 50 years. It was enjoyable to be with him on many trips both domestic and foreign along with family events. Our families are very close. Charlie always saw the best in people and readily agreed to help them in any possible way. He was intensely proud of his family and was a "rock" on whom they could depend. Charlie became a pillar in the Raisin Valley Friends Church. He didn't complain about problems or tragedies; he just plowed through them. He and Emily had a wonderful marriage. They enjoyed each others company and they were rarely apart. We will miss him greatly.
