William Andrew Smith

William A. Smith, age 49, of Fayette, OH, passed away, November 10, 2024, at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo OH.  He was born August 22, 1975, in Trenton, MI, the son of Jackie Sr. & Glenna (Grimm) Smith. On April 11, 2005, he married Laura Nine, she survives.  William was currently employed by General Motors at their Defiance Plant. He loved to play golf alongside his brother Andrew and his closest friends. William was a die-hard Detroit Lions fan and always watched the games with his closest family. He enjoyed playing World of Warcraft with his son and nephews. William loved going out on date night with his wife and go vacationing with his kids, which included Cedar Point and Great Wolf Lodge. William was a hard worker and enjoyed providing for his family.  In addition to his wife, Laura Smith, he is survived by his children, Alexis (Eli) Dickerson, Sadeze Shonk, Nathaniel Smith, Cameron Smith and Aubrey Smith; two grandson; Karter Swirles and Liam Swirles; two brothers, James (Jennifer) Smith and Andrew Smith; brother in law, Jeff Johnson; nieces and nephews, Cayla Smith, Trisha Bryan, Todd Bryan Jr., James Smith Jr. and Jacob Smith; and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie Sr. & Glenna Smith; one sister, Dawn Johnson and one brother, Jackie Smith Jr.  Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2024, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI with Pastor Matthew SeGraves officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Hudson, MI.
