William "Bill" Richard Acock III, age 85, passed away in his home on April 1, 2026, in Coldwater, Michigan, surrounded by family and friends after a long illness. He was born on August 21, 1940, to William Richard Acock II and Daisy Marie (Filarski) Acock. His father was killed during the Battle of the Bulge. Bill joined the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper after High School. After the army, he spent most of his civilian career in construction and as a truck driver. Bill thrived on designing and building all kinds of things in his workshop from wood and metal construction to converting his beloved antique English motorcycle into a diesel powered engine. He touched the lives of many friends over the years, and will be remembered for his laugh, love of all things gadgetry, his trademark denim coveralls and long beard. Bill is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginger” Whitman-Acock, children Tiana Burgeson and Dorian (Rachel) Whitman, grandchildren Reidar Burgeson, Ariana Burgeson, Owen Burgeson and Keegan Whitman, whom he cherished in life.
