Virginia L. Bemis

Virginia L. Bemis, age 82, of Belleville, MI, passed away, January 9, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 26, 1939, in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of John H. Keller & Clara (Dailey) Keller. On August 8, 1959, she married Leroy Bemis, he preceded her in death on February 1, 2010.   Virginia was the head cook for Bortz Health Care of Ypsilanti for over 20 years.  She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Ann (Dave) Sproul; two sons, Harold Lee Bemis and Alfred William Bemis; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  In addition to her beloved husband Leroy, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Keller; three daughters, Sherry Lou Bemis, Laura Iona Bemis and Tina Lynn Bemis; and one son, LeRoy John Bemis.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 15, 2022, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti, MI.
