Thomas Merlin Cook, II age 64, of Tecumseh, MI passed away on April 16, 2022 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 25, 1957, in Tecumseh, MI, the son of Thomas and Bess (Ostrowski) Cook. Tom was an active member of Boy Scouts of America growing up and earned his Eagle Scout rank at age 18. Tom graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1975 and attended Washtenaw Community College, studying Automotive Mechanics. In 1990 he went on to further his education in Robotics and graduated from Madonna University. He began his career working at Meyers Industries as a boat builder/supervisor in Tecumseh, MI. He then went to work at Metalloy Manufacturing in Hudson, MI, as a production supervisor. Not only did he love his family but Tom (BT) also loved the neighborhood kids and thought of them as his own. He also enjoyed watching the Lions, U of M Football, Boxing, Westerns, and Automotive shows on TV. He was very interested in history, past and present. Tom is survived by his wife, Belinda; son, Thomas Cook, III; daughters, Tiffany (Scott) Snyder and Brittany Cook; 5 grandchildren, Madisyn, Sienna, Greyson, Xavier Synder and Brooklyn Cook; 2 sisters, Carol (Steve) LaCivita of Bonita Springs, FL and Marilyn Collins of Santino, TX; mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and several nieces, nephews and the family dog Khloe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bess; son, Jacob Cook, father-in-law, Edward Menominee and brother-in-law, Donald (Joe) Menominee. Visitation for Tom will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. There will be a celebration of life later this summer. Private burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery. Donations may be made to CrohnsColitisFoundation.org or American Diabetes Association.
