Thelma "Cookie" Van Riper age 85, of Tecumseh passed away March 26, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing, Adrian. She was born June 16, 1936, in Tecumseh, the daughter of Alfred and Dorothy (Benoet) Reeves. Thelma was employed for many years at Vescio's Market, Tecumseh, and also Kroger's in Ann Arbor. She is survived by her son, Jack Van Riper of Tecumseh; 3 grandchildren, Jamie (Aaron) Sanday of Acme, WA, Trisha (Bobby) Henry of Chillicothe, OH, and Tyler (Katie) Van Riper of Petoskey, MI; 7 great grandchildren, Noah, Logan, Aislinn, Dylan, Asher, Skye, and Ayden; and niece, Sandy Yenor of Brooklyn, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Dorothy; and two sisters, Jane Cheever, and Margaret Bell. Cremation has taken place. Final resting place will be at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, MI.
