Susan E. (Ott) Fischhoff

Susan E. (Ott) Fischhoff, age 86, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Grass Lake, MI. Susan was born on December 21, 1935 in Budapest, Hungary. In 1954 she married the love of her life, Walter E. Fischhoff and two years later had one son, Walter V. Fischhoff. Both Susan and Walter were accomplished musicians trained in Budapest, Hungary and Vienna Austria. The family moved to Vienna Austria in 1964 and then to New York City in 1966, where they established a successful private music studio for teaching piano and voice. Susan was instrumental in creating, orchestrating, and directing youth musicals in Forest Hills, NY. Susan also accompanied Walter on the piano for many choir/orchestral concerts in the greater New York area, reaching their pinnacle performance at Lincoln Center. In 2003 Susan and Walter moved to Adrian, MI and established the Fischhoff Studio of Music in their new home, where students of all ages attended piano and voice lessons. All throughout her life, in her spare time Susan’s enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including swimming, walking, biking, water and snow skiing, boating, tennis, and others. In addition to the outdoor interests Susan also pursued hobbies such as painting, ceramics, and sewing. Susan is survived by one sister Eva Ott (Vienna, Austria), one son Walter (Deborah) Fischhoff, step-son Peter (Susan) Fischhoff, grand daughters Nicole Fischhoff, Ashleigh (Kenneth) Fite, Julie (Emery) Polasek, grandson Steven Fischhoff, and six great grand children. Susan was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. Fischhoff (July 31, 1922 – March 1, 2012), her father Joseph Ott (Jan. 19, 1908 - Dec. 30, 1968), and by her mother Aranka (Simcsik) Ott (May 18, 1906 - Aug. 9, 1964). A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 5290 Milwaukee Rd., Tecumseh, MI 49286. The service will be followed by a light brunch at the church.
