Shirley Ellen (Warner) Birdsell August 30, 1947 to November 12, 2022
Shirley was born August 30, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Audrey (Deforest) and Walter Warner. The youngest of six children, 4 brothers and 1 sister. The family moved to St. Johns, MI when she was young where she attended school and the Episcopal church till age 11. Where she went to live with Vera and DeWitt Sawyer of N. Adams, MI. She attended and graduated school top of her class and sang in a church choir. She worked as a secretary and continued to sing in the choir at church until she married in the mid to late 60's. She has 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. As an adult other than secretarial work she also learned farming. Worked in the healthcare field for decades. She also was a professional cleaning woman and eventually owned her own janitorial business. She was an avid square dancer which she enjoyed for many years. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She has been a cancer survivor since 2014. And has had a friend LeAnne Voss for 42 yrs. She went to sleep in Christ November 12, 2022. She was processed in death by her parents (4) and all her siblings, a couple of nephews and a niece. She is survived by Ann Valdes (Jim), a granddaughter Shana Valdes (Lizzy), a great granddaughter, Vanessa Valdes, a grandson, Chandler Valdes, and David Valdes (Jenny), two sons,a daughter-in-law, 2 grandchildren not mentioned and a grandson, Anthony Birdsell and a sister-in-law Phillis Warner (Jack). A Memorial and supper will be held for Shirley 5:00 PM Saturday November 19, 2022, at the American Legion Post 97, 904 N. Main St., Adrian, MI 49221. Arrangements entrusted to J.
