Sarah Younglove Obituary

Sarah Lilley Younglove of Ann Arbor passed away May 16, 2021 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor at the age of 59. She was born March 25, 1962 in Tecumseh, to parents Perry Arthur and Florence Genevieve (Carpenter) Younglove. Her father died when Sarah was only 3 years old so her Aunt Thelma, who lived right next door, helped raise her. Sarah graduated from Britton High School in 1980. She furthered her education at Adrian College (class of 1984) and then received her Master's degree from Eastern Michigan University (EMU). An avid reader, it is fitting that she would end up working at a library. She first worked at Milan Public Library and then spent the next 32 years at EMU as a Library Associate. She was also a member of Crossroads Community Baptist Church in Ann Arbor. Sarah was a soft spoken, unassuming and independent woman. Extended family were very important. The Carpenter Summer Reunions and other family gatherings were special events in her life. Surviving are numerous cousins including special cousins, Hilda Riply and Morris Carpenter. Due to a very large age gap, she always considered them as “Aunt Hilda and Uncle Morris”. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Mollie Rose and Mary Beth, (who died at birth) and special Aunt Thelma. Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest in Ridgeway Cemetery in Ridgeway Township.  A celebration of Sarah's life will take place at a later date.
