Sandra Kay Ricketts, 73, of Monroe Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 6th at Promedica Nursing Home under the care of Promedica Hospice. Sandra was born in Saginaw, Michigan on July 27th 1946 to the late Elmer Fike and Sarah Fike (Gower). As an adult she moved to Beaverton and later Sterling, where she raised her son. Later in life, she lived in Florida, where she enjoyed being outside, whether it was fishing or just walking down the shore collecting shells along the sandy beaches of Punta Gorda where she resided from 1993 to 2013. She also enjoyed the art of crocheting and loved watching old western movies. Throughout her life, Sandra held odd jobs until she started her own lawn cutting business in Florida. Sandra is survived by her son Michael Ricketts (Melody), grandson August Ricketts, and one sister Lauralee Lynn Stumpfig (Fike). She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers (Terry Lee Fike and Allen Duane Fike). Since Sandra had a love of animals, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Michigan Humane Society in her name. Due to the current situation, a memorial service will be held at a later date, to be determined.
