Sandra Kay Helzerman

Sandra  Kay  Helzerman, age 86, of Adrian, MI, passed away, July 16, 2026, at home with her family, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.  She was born November 2, 1939, in Dundee, MI, the daughter of Warren & Ora (Lynn) Whipple.  On June 16, 1962, she married George Helzerman, he survives.  Sandra was a graduate of Milan High School.  She then went onto to graduate from Eastern Michigan University while earning a Masters Degree in education.  Sandra taught elementary school at Van Buren Public Schools in Belleville, MI.  In addition to her husband George, she is survived by her children, Glenn (Tricia) Helzerman and Joan Beth Helzerman; three granddaughters, Kayla Helzerman, Tiffany Helzerman and Alyssa (Anthony) Gazda; and sister in law, Virginia Stralnic.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren & Ora Whipple, one son, Gregg Helzerman; and four brothers.  Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Alban Cemetery, 8850 Bemis Road, Ypsilanti, MI 48197.  Arrangements are under the direction of Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, MI.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
