Sally Jane Schweighauser, loving wife, mother, friend, and medical colleague, passed away 8/28/2021 at 88 years old of Alzheimer’s. Sally was born in Cleveland, Ohio, August 2, 1933. Preceded in death by her parents Charlotte and Arthur Gillman, sister Patricia Ajemian and beloved grandparents, Dorethae and Otto Prey. Survived by her husband James Schweighauser of Manchester (married 1970), celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary November 2020. Sally is also survived by daughter Danielle (Doni) (Michael) McLennan of Manchester along with two grandchildren Roy and Rose. In 1954 Sally graduated from Henry Ford School of Nursing, and then took 2 courses at U of M in Psychology. From 1962 – 1975 Sal pursued her career at Hawthorne Center in Northville Mi. Sally took an extended time away from her medical career to be a stay-at-home mom for Doni. Upon re- entry into the medical field, she finished her career in Child Physiatry at U of M. In her youth Sally enjoyed baseball and basketball, but always had a love for horses. She rode and showed dressage, enjoyed trail riding, and just caring for her horses in any fashion. She also loved all, of the various cats and dogs that were so fortunate to weave their way into her life. Sally was comforted by her faith In Jehovah while struggling with the disease that required great strength. She knew where to draw her strength from, and more importantly she knew the future to hold a much better and perfect place. Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had a beautiful spirit, kindly cared for so many and has left behind many wonderful memories and an example to be followed.
