Ruben Gabino Flores, Sr.

Ruben G. Flores, Sr., age 74, of Palmyra, MI, passed away March 11, 2022.  He was born February 19, 1948, in Elwell, MI, the son of Eulalio Flores and Carmen Garcia Martinez. On April 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Stephanie Madrid in Blissfield, MI, she survives.  Ruben attended Adrian High School. He went on to work in the manufacturing industry. Ruben worked at Blissfield Manufacturing for 27 years and then later retired at Lenawee Stamping after 13 years of service.  Ruben was an avid Michigan State fan, following all their sporting events. He loved going to the horse races in Toledo and Northville Downs. Ruben loved the outdoors and caring for his lawn.  In addition to his wife of 54 years, Stephanie Flores, he is survived by his mother, Carmen Garcia; his children, Carmen (Todd) LaCoe, Tina (Mike) Pellowe, Ruben (Amy) Flores Jr., David (Annette) Flores and Veronica (Thomas) Stetten; seventeen grandchildren, Caitlin, Jaiden, Alysia, Jacob, Ashley, Kayleen, Brandie, Amber, Courtney, Marissa, Aliya, Damien, Isaiah, Isaac, Derek, Noah and Dylan; three great grandchildren, Keegan, Greyson and Micah; his siblings, Mary (Augustine) Celestino, William (Diana) Garcia, Jesus (Pam) Garcia, Gloria (Frank) Garza, Manuel Garcia and Adam Garcia; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Eulalio Flores; one son, Daniel Flores; grandmother, Rufina Martinez; one granddaughter, Danielle; and one brother, Jose "Joe" Flores.  Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 18, 2022, at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Campus, 415 Ormsby St., Adrian, MI, with Fr. Michael Newman presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Prayer service at 7:30 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, and also on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at St. Joseph Campus.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
