Roy D. Sparks

Roy D. Sparks, age 74, of Adrian, MI, passed away, January 13, 2020, at his son's home under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born September 24, 1945, in Tecumseh, MI, the son of Henry & Grace Sparks. On August 5, 1972 he married Kay Ann Oatman at Maryville Assembly of God in Maryville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1999.  He was a graduate of Adrian High School and attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Roy worked at Merillat Industries in Adrian, MI, retiring in early 2000. He was a member of Tecumseh Assembly of God and later Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian.  Roy is survived by his two children, Christopher (April) Sparks of Adrian and Michelle Sparks of Minneapolis, two grandchildren, Victoria & Brandon Sparks both of Adrian, his siblings, Mary Kay Klanke of Hillsdale, Jean DeFelice of Hillsdale and Ron M. (Virginia) Sparks of Adrian; and several nieces an nephews.  In addition to his wife Kay Sparks, he was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Grace Sparks and brother, Richard Sparks.  Viewing & Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 with Pastor Ron Sparks officiating at the J.
