Rosemarie Laura Meyer

Rosemarie Laura Meyer, age 95, of Inverness, FL passed away at New Horizon Assisted Living on October 20, 2021 at the age of 95. She was born to the late Clarence and Grace (Florip) Higley on August 1, 1926 in Detroit, MI. Rosemarie and her family made Stockbridge, MI their home in 1957 and were the Pioneer Family in the first act of the Centennial Pageant in 1960. She worked at the Stockbridge Post Office as a clerk and in the Postmasters absence she worked as the clerk in charge. She eventually retired after 20 years of dedicated service. Rosemarie had many loves from working in her flower garden to listening and singing to music. All of us kid's have many fond memories of our mother and father. My father would be playing the piano and my mother would be singing along with him. She enjoyed meeting her group of friends at the coffee shop in the mornings. She enjoyed working out on her exercise bike and she loved to read all kinds of things. Her favorite was Western's and watching Western's on TV. She also very much enjoyed collecting ceramic Dolls and jewelry. Rosemarie and her husband first met at a “tip toppers club”, a club specifically for tall people. Her greatest joy and love was for her family and spending time with them. My mother and father met at the tip topper's club for those not in the know it's a club for tall people. My Mother's Absolutely biggest love was her family. Rosemarie is survived by her daughter, Karen Ann Vallejo and her husband Ray of Beverly Hills, FL; sons: Keith R. Kothe and his wife Meira of Bat Shemesh, Israel, Gregory A. Kothe of Inverness, FL, Tony Jenkins and his wife Mona of Tazewell, VA; daughter in law, Helen Kothe of Glen Burnie Marilyn; and a great many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several Nieces and nephews. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her first husband and mother of her children, Gerard “Bob” Kothe on May 15, 1988; her second husband, Georg William Meyer on June 4, 2006; brother, Raymond Higley; sisters: Laurine Bailey and Virginia Burke; daughter in law, Sherry Kothe; and great granddaughter, Jade Kothe. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.  Burial will follow where Rosemarie will be laid to rest alongside her husband Bob at Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge, MI.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at J.
