Ronald L. Pickford

Ronald L. Pickford, age 73, of Rome Center, passed away, May 24, 2023, at home with his family. He was born February 25, 1950, in Adrian, MI, the son of Lester & Shirley (Watkins) Pickford. On September 21, 1979, he married Debra Suydam, she survives.  Ronald was a graduate of Onsted High School, Class of 1968. He served his country in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War. Ronald was retired from Meijer in Adrian and then onto to work at L & W Engineering in Blissfield, eventually retiring in 2022. Ronald loved to go camping yearly with his family. He liked working in the yard and had a green thumb. Ronald was an artistic man who enjoyed arts & crafts and baking.  In addition to his wife Debra, he is survived by his children, Eric (Courtney) Pickford, Lindsey Keene (Randy Staffen Jr.) and Mallory (Jason) Goetz; 7 grandchildren, Ruby, Hazel, Trinity (Dominic), Blayd, Allera, Amelia and Koby; one great granddaughter, Leilani; 4 sisters, Connie (Richard) Poll, Bonnie (Ron) Bowen, Toni (Gary) VanSickle and Joni (Tim) Parker; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Onsted American Legion.
