Robert "Bubba" Philip Taylor, 58, of Jackson, MI, passed away at home on July 28, 2023, in Brooklyn, MI. He was born on December 27, 1964, in Jackson, MI, to the late Arthur Philip Taylor and Nina Lorraine (Johnson) Taylor. Bubba was the master of the unexpected and positively impacted everyone he knew and loved. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He leaves behind Christal Taylor, his loving wife of 36 years, his sons Cody Clark Taylor, Travis (Amber) Taylor, and Nicholas (Leif) Taylor. Bubba will be missed by his beloved granddaughters, MacKenzie, Teagen, Tatum, and Addie Taylor, as well as his nephews, Thomas, Zane, Lane, Michael, and Benjamin and nieces, Santha, Keeley, Savanna, Dallas, Mya, Reagan, Katelyn, Kendra, and Misha. Also left to mourn his passing are sisters Gladys Wilkins and Dena Fitch, his brother Roger (Nancy) Taylor, as well as his dedicated father-in-law, C. J. Moore. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Philip Taylor, mother Nina Lorraine (Johnson) Taylor, brothers, Steve Vandenberg and Robin Taylor, and sisters, Roxane Taylor and Denise Buckles. Bubba was a 1983 graduate of Columbia Central High School, where he was recognized as an athlete dedicated to playing football. Bubba was a jack-of-all trades throughout his career. He worked in manufacturing and farming, but his favorite job was collecting scrap metal. He was known for his dedication and hard work in every task he accepted. In his free time, Bubba enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his grandkids, working in his garden, playing with his cherished dog, Rocko, and enjoying time on the lake. He loved talking about his sons and the cherished moments he had with his family. Bubba will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, unexpected Bubba-isms, and love for his family. His boys were his pride and joy. Anyone who knew him has a Bubba story to tell that usually ends in laughter, and head shaking. We all appreciated the challenges he faced and his dedication to overcoming them. The positive impact he left on us all and the rift left by his passing cannot be overstated. Bubba will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Irish Hills Eagles, 9500 Wampler’s Lake Road, Brooklyn, MI. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service.
