Robert John Eckstein, passed away un expectedly from heart failure on July 7, 2025. Robert married the love of his life, Diane in 1985. Their life together was filled with devotion, shared laughter, and deep companionship. They raised two children, Erika and Christopher, and built a home grounded in love. Nearly two years to the day of Robert's passing, he experienced the most heartbreaking loss of his life, the death of his only son Christopher in 2023. The grief never left him. He carried that sorrow with quiet strength, but those closest to him knew how deeply it effected him. Losing Christopher changed Robert in ways words cannot fully capture. He is survived by his wife Diane, daughter Erika (Hans) Riparip and grandchildren Damien and Serena. Being a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment he shared with them. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn Eckstein-Soule (Thomas), his brother Ronald Eckstein (Eileen), brother in law Thomas Gola (Gail), Sister in law Susan Lollini (Robert), brother in law James Gola (Staci), sister in law Joan Gola Black (Steven), and many nieces and nephews. Robert's Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025. MEMORIAL DONATIONS may be sent to: Fr. Solanus Casey Capuchin Soup Kitchen : 1820 Mount Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207.
