Richard Eugene Griffith, 74, was born on December 2, 1946 in Ironton, Ohio. the son of Fred Griffith and Sarah (Skaggs) Griffith. He was raised in Oldtown, Ky. He unexpectedly passed away on May 27, 2021 in his Adrian, Mi home with his son at his side. Richard is survived by daughter, Tracy (Griffith) Tracy (Eric), son, Richard E. Griffith II, granddaughter, Erika Machan-Garland (Adam), great grandson, Noah Machan-Garland, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy (Anderson) Griffith, four brothers, Elmer Griffith, Bill Bradley, Harold Bradley, Floyd Bradley, two sisters Gladys (Bradley) Stevens, Roberta (Bradley-Hall) Hayes, three nephews, Steven Griffith, Dewitt Anderson, Kenneth Stevens, and one niece, Linda Stevens. Richard moved from Greenup County Kentucky to Milan Michigan the summer of 1966 pursuing a job in the automobile industry. He was hired by Ford Motor Company, located in Saline, Mi in the fall of 1966. He remained a loyal, hardworking employee of thirty years until he retired in the fall of 1996. Richard was a wise man with few words. However, when he spoke people listened and often found his words to have a profound impact. He loved his family, outdoors and wildlife, camping, traveling, the family cabin aka "Weekend Rendevous", watching Western movies, sports, maintaining his cars, trucks, and homes. He was also a man that knew what he wanted. He met his Love, Nancy, on October 19, 1966, and made her his bride six short weeks later on December 2, 1966. They would both tell you she was his greatest birthday gift ever. They shared fifty-four years of marriage, supporting each other through all of life's ups and downs and were inseparable until their final days. Richard joined his beloved Nancy in heaven only eight short days after her crossing over. Not even death could keep them apart. "Dad, you and Mom hug each other tight for us".
