Paul N. "Chico" Martinez, Jr., age 56, of Adrian, MI, passed away, November 8, 2022, at home with his family. He was born October 1, 1966, in Adrian, MI, the son of Paul Sr. & Alice (Torres) Martinez. On September 15, 1990, he married Teresa Balderas in Blissfield, MI, she survives. Chico was a graduate of Blissfield High School, Class of 1985. He went on to earn an Associate Degree from Siena Heights University. Chico served his country in the Michigan Army National Guard for over 25 years. He will be remembered as a giving man, someone who went above and beyond in everything he was involved in the Adrian Community and will be remembered by many mostly for being the founder of Adrian's Cinco de Mayo Parade. Most importantly he cherished his family, both immediate & extended. In addition to his wife, Teresa Martinez, Chico is survived by his children, Angelina (Derrick) Disheaux, Azia Martinez (Jesse Garcia), Anastacia Martinez (Omar Gomez), Savastian Martinez; his grandchildren, Malakai, Julianna, Jacey Grace, Avianna and Adriel; his mother, Alice Martinez; and his siblings, Ray (Natasha) Martinez and Emmadean (Daniel) Schwartz. Chico was preceded in death by his father, Paul N. Martinez, Sr.; and brother, Anthony Martinez. As a family we would like to thank Bobbi Delacruz, cousin Junior Rodriguez; friend, Sherry Martinez; and Hospice of Lenawee. The Martinez Family would also like to thank the oncology department at the Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital, especially Jenny Brown for going above and beyond to check on Chico. You were put into his life for this reason and we appreciate all that you have done for him till the very end. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday November 15, 2022, at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary Campus, 305 Division Street, Adrian, MI, with Fr. Michael Newman presiding. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Adrian, MI, with Military Honors performed by the Adrian American Legion Post 97 Honor Guard.
