Paul Lee Dowell

Paul Lee Dowell age 80, of Tecumseh died May 4, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with liver cancer. On October 17, 1941, he was born in Harlan County, KY, the son of Murl and Omega (Muncy) Dowell. On July 22, 1961 he married Patricia Ann Bass, in Detroit, MI.  She preceded him in death on January 23, 2014. Paul was retired from General Motors Hydromatic, Ypsilanti Plant. He was a member of the Ypsilanti Masonic Temple, Phoenix Lodge #13. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved cars. He often traveled to Florida, where he enjoyed spending time on the beach. He is survived by his son, Paul Allen (Lori) Dowell of Tecumseh; two grandchildren, Josh of Indianapolis, IN and Melissa Dowell of Lansing; sister, Wanda Sue Howard of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife Patricia and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Dowell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Deacon David Conn officiating. Entombment will follow at Brookside Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday May 9, 2022 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. A Masonic Memorial Service will be performed by the Ypsilanti Masonic Temple, Phoenix Lodge #13, on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
