Patricia Ann "Patty" Shearer

Patricia Ann "Patty" Shearer, age 84, of Adrian, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Lynwood Manor Health Care Center in Adrian, MI.  Patricia was born in Adrian, Michigan to Robert and Barbara Wood on July 26, 1941. She went to Adrian High School and graduated in 1959. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Community Action Center/WIC for 27 years. She was very passionate about her service with WIC and the impact on women and young children’s lives. She loved singing and cooking for her family.  She attended Petersburg Lowerlight Church where she gave her life to Christ. Patty is survived by her son, Bill McCarthy, and daughter-in-law, Lori McCarthy, of Lancaster, OH, a stepdaughter, Mary Beth Shearer, of Adrian, Michigan, her significant other of 21 years, Bruce Eckert, of Adrian, Michigan, her grandchildren, Brandon McCarthy, Kristine (Josh) Dombrowski, Matt (Christine) McCarthy, Kristen (Elias) Telon, Lucas McCarthy-Grey and Autumn McCarthy-Grey. Patty also has many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Wood, her two brothers, Richard and Robert Wood, her husband of 23 years, Alexander Shearer, and her son, Scott McCarthy.
