Nita A. (Rumsey) Phillips

Nita A. Phillips (Rumsey), age 67, of Hillsdale Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Friday July 15, 2022, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Nita was born April 26th 1955, in Jackson, MI to parents Dean and Dorothy Rumsey. Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Scott Phillips; children, Ryan (Audrey) Phillips, and Kyle Phillips; grandchildren, Milo, Nora, Maddie Phillips; and brother, Pete Rumsey. Preceding her in death were her parents, Dean and Dorothy Rumsey, and sister in law, Becky Rumsey. Nita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She enjoyed her monthly bunco and book club groups, as well as the summer getaways with those groups. Some of her greatest loves in life were traveling, attending concerts with her son and husband, camping, spending a day on the beaches of Lake Michigan, and just experiencing everything that life had to offer. She worked at Hillsdale Community Schools for 23 years, where she guided and influenced many young lives. Her smile, positive outlook on life, and size of her heart will truly be missed by her family, friends, and the community.
