Nancy Raye Perry, age 79, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 18, 2026. Born on August 30, 1946, to Kenneth and Grace Hooten, Nancy was a lifelong member of the Tecumseh community and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1964. On July 31, 1965, she married the love of her life, Douglas Perry, beginning a marriage that would span 60 years and become the foundation of a deeply devoted family. Nancy spent several years managing the Tecumseh Frosty Boy and later served as assistant service manager at Busch’s. She was known for her quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering willingness to help others without seeking recognition. Nothing mattered more to Nancy than those she loved. She had a soft spot for animals and carried that compassion into every part of her life. She also felt a calling to provide children with a loving home and family, fighting through a difficult foster and adoption process for several years in order to make that possible. Her determination, resilience, and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Nancy was a faithful member of Christ Temple Ministries in Adrian, where she lived her faith through the service to others. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Doug Perry; her sister, Brenda Williams; and her children, Lori Bower, Sara Perry, Richard Perry, and Kenneth Box. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Grace Hooten; her brother, Kenneth Hooten; and her cousins, Grace Day and Steve Aiuto. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Christ Temple Ministries, 3665 Deerfield Road, Adrian, Michigan, with Bishop Robert Benard presiding. Visitation will take place from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Nancy’s name. Arrangements are being handled by Purse Funeral Home in Adrian, Michigan. www.PurseFuneralHome.com
