Michael David Vaughn, age 77, of Montgomery, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2024. Michael was born in Auburn, Indiana to William and Dorthy (Gallaway)Vaughn on June 4, 1947. He spent most of his school years in Quincy, while graduating from Cement City High School in 1965. Michael dedicated his career to General Motors, where he served for 32 years and retired as a supervisor. When he was younger, Michael enjoyed broadcasting college basketball games on the radio. He had a deep passion for sports, with a special devotion to Detroit Tigers baseball, as well as Michigan State basketball. He was a history buff with a particular fondness for American history. Outside of sports, Michael had a love for Springer Spaniels and the energy they imbued. He was also drawn to nature, finding joy in felling trees and collecting firewood to keep his family warm through the Michigan winters. Michael volunteered with the Tecumseh Jaycees and later served as a trustee for the village of Montgomery. Michael is survived by his wife of 23 years, Brenda; his son, M. Cooper Vaughn; three stepdaughters, Amanda Upell, Loretta (Andy) Rowan, and Tracy (Chett) Anders; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friends, Norman and Grace McClure. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Michelle Hawkins, and an infant son. In keeping with his last wishes a cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Hillsdale County for their compassionate care. www.PurseFuneralHome.com
