Michael Lee Dwyer, 77, of Morenci, MI, passed away, June 1, 2020, at home, surrounded by family. He was born September 18, 1942, in Toledo, OH, the son of Irving & Monna (Quackenbush) Dwyer. Mike was a graduate of Morenci High School, class of 1960. After graduating, he attended Chicago Tech College and Jackson Junior College. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Ann Davis, on June 23, 1962, she survives. Mike was a hard worker and long time business owner in the Morenci area. He started several businesses including, Lenawee Tool and Manufacturing, Marshland Nursery, Yukon Home Heat and LTA. He employed many people who learned valuable trades from him. He had an adventurous soul, loved the outdoors, and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and scuba diving. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He obtained his pilot’s license to fly small engine planes. He enjoyed going to the Redwings and University of Michigan hockey games. He was a scout master for the boy scouts and a Babe Ruth baseball coach. He loved traveling and visiting Ireland with his wife and daughters. In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by four daughters, Michelle (Gary) Dwyer-Miron, Kathleen Dwyer, Colleen Dwyer-Martinez and Loreen Dwyer; eight grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Martinez, Dustin (Andrea) Pilbeam, Brennan Smith (Heather), Salena (Kenny) Jenkins, Kyle (Katelyn) Pilbeam, Ashley Smith (Josh), John Michael Martinez and Michael Root II; seventeen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Irving Duane (Edith) Dwyer and Richard Kevin Dwyer, a niece Jodie (Jeff) Crane and nephew Kevin Dwyer, many close friends and his loyal dog, Chief. He will be dearly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Mitchell Duane Dwyer, and sister-in-law, Marti Dwyer. According to his wishes, cremation will take place and an Irish Wake will be held on July 12, 2020, from 12pm - 5pm at the American Legion in Morenci.
