Melvin Ross Reid

Melvin Ross Reid, age 89, passed away on September 15, 2022. He was born in Romeo on December 24, 1932 to James and Elizabeth Reid (Wilds). Melvin was the brother of Alfred, William, Gerald, and David, all of whom are deceased, except Gerald, who lives in Waterford, MI. His son, James (Annette) Reid, lives in Brooklyn, MI.  His step-daughter, Lisa Paredes, passed away in 2021.  He has five grandchildren, Kelly (wife Sarah), Christopher, James, Kevin, and Heather.  He has one great grandchild, Thomas. Melvin worked for 33 years at Pontiac Motors and ran a small trucking business for over 30 years.  He was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Korean War. He lived in the Lake Orion / Oxford area for many years and at Charlotte Stevenson Manor in Adrian for the last 11 years.  He was a long-time member of the Open Bible Church in Pontiac, and was most recently a member of the Adrian Church of God - Redemption Outreach Center. A memorial service will be held at noon on September 26, 2022, at Adrian Church of God - Redemption Outreach Center, 704 Baldwin Hwy, Adrian MI  49221, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte Stevenson Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
