Martin "Marty" William Billau

Martin “Marty” William Billau age 68, of Britton, MI passed away March 16, 2022. He was born March 30, 1953, in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Robert and Mildred (Gottchalk) Billau.  On January 1, 1987, he married the love of his life Susan Yates, and she survives. In his early years, as he grew up, he helped on the family farm in Britton, MI. Martin attended and graduated from Britton-Macon Area Schools, Class of 1971. After high school he attended Barber College, after which he opened his own shop, Marty's Family Hair Care Salon on State Street in Ann Arbor, which continued for almost 50 years. He was a very active member of Britton Bethel Baptist Church for over 30 years, serving many roles at the church. His  favorite role was being the AWANA and Boy Scout Leader. In his spare time, when he was not working or at church helping with the youth activities, he loved spending time with his family, hunting and just being outdoors. Marty is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Susan; three sons, Cody Billau, Jacob Billau and Lucas Billau; one daughter, Tia Billau; four grandchildren, Elijah, Ezekiel, Logan and Ellen; one brother, Robert Billau and one sister, Joyce Conrad. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred Billau. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Britton Bethel Baptist Church, 296 South Main Street, Britton, MI 49229. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. from 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Britton Bethel Baptist Church in honor of Marty.
