Mark Kain Obituary

Mark Alan Kain, age 59, died peacefully August 7th, after his brave battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He spent his last days with loved ones by his side in Ypsilanti, MI. He is survived by his children, Aaron Lee (Yolanda) Kain, and Rachel Lyn Kain (Bryan Patterson), three grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, and Brooklyn, his sister Julie Kain, and one niece, Raquel, two aunts, Gail Ohanian and Mabel Kain, many cousins whom he loved very much, and his best friend JoAnn Reisig. His parents, Harold and Lucille Kain, and his brothers, Dennis Kain and David Kain preceded him in death. Mark was born October 3, 1960 in Pigeon, Michigan to Harold and Lucille Kain of Sebewaing, Michigan.  He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan in 1983, joined the Air Force in 1981 and retired in 2001. His military career included Security Police Officer, Weather Observer and Forecaster, and Special Agent for the OSI.  He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed everything from hunting in the Alaskan mountains, or diving in Guam, to sailing his boat in Saginaw Bay. Mark attended Frankenmuth United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his name be made to: ALS Foundation for Life  P.O.
