Margaret "Margie" Rae Smith

Margaret "Margie" Rae Smith, age 86, of Adrian, MI, passed away peacefully, February 10, 2025, at home with her husband. She was born January 7, 1939, in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Floyd & Jean (Rae) Baker. On October 17, 1975, she married Ronald "Snuffy" Smith, in Adrian, MI, he survives.  Margie attended Onsted High School. She worked many years at Fisher Body in Tecumseh until they closed and then retired from AMCO in Adrian, MI. Margie was a member of the Onsted American Legion and belonged to the Eagles of Brooklyn, MI. She was a member of North Rome Baptist Church where she volunteered her cleaning services for many years. Margie enjoyed several years in the Upper Peninsula on their property with her family and friends. She was well known for baking and famous Christmas goodies. Margie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who thought the world of her two grandsons. Margie had a special love for animals, especially her two cats.  In addition to her husband Ronald "Snuffy", she is survived by her son, Dan II (Sherry) Shaffer; two grandsons, Dan Shaffer III and Delbert (Pamela) Shaffer; brother in law, Rod (Cathy) Smith; sister in law, Barb Smith; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenny Baker, Bill Baker and Tommy Baker; one sister, Becky Adams; father and mother in law, Curtis & Doris Smith and one brother in law, Richard Smith.  Memorial Services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2025, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Fritz Kruse officiating. Visitation will also be on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
