Judy Case Obituary

Judy N. Case, age 80, of Deerfield, MI, passed away October 28, 2022. She was born July 14, 1942, in Pomeroy, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence & Margaret (Stanley) Lightfoot. On June 17, 1960, Judy was married to Tom Case of Weston, MI and the two were lovingly married for 62 years, hand in hand until her very last moment. Judy enjoyed reading, playing euchre, completing crossword puzzles, and baking her famous chocolate chip and banana cookies. Even more than these things, she loved spending time cheering on her children and grandchildren at their school and sporting events, yelling “TOM!” so loud the neighbors could hear, and cuddling PopTart (the dog she swears she has hated for the last 18 years). She will be forever remembered as our “Big Jude” sitting in her comfy chair, dressed in her ‘U of M’ sweatshirt, rooting for her Duke Blue Devils or engaged in her crime dramas. Her laugh was contagious, her vocabulary was creative, and her heart was one-of-a-kind. She was blessed to pass surrounded by the family she and Tom created and loved so much. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Margaret Lightfoot; siblings, Clarence Lightfoot Jr., Joseph Lightfoot, Tom Lightfoot, Betty J. Lightfoot, Paul A. Lightfoot, Mary Webster; and granddaughter, Joan Iott. In addition to her husband Tom Case, she is survived by her children: Darcy (Tim) Rogers, Darwyn (Shelly) Case, Darby Case, and Julie Iott; her grandchildren: Sarah (Terry) Gentry, Taylor (Brad) Buchanan, Brandon Russell, Chloe and Brianna Rogers; Darwyn Jr. (Nichole), and Jason (Loren) Case, Colby (Matthew) Ruttkofsky and Tashiana Case; Sofia and Irelyn Case; Meagan Skampo, Erin and Bill Iott; great grandchildren: Hannah, Emmalee, Zackary, and Jack Gentry; Skylar Buchanan; Gavin Ekstrand, Landre, Briarlynn and Layton Case; Declan Case; Everett Ruttofsky; Nora and Theo Vanslambrouck; Rylee Bennett, Madden Skampo; Ellianna Hicks; Benjamin Leik, Aiden and Carrigan Iott; Cashton, Clara, Calvin, and Caris Iott; her great great granddaughter Eila Parra; and her siblings: George Lightfoot, Mona Harmon and Jerry Lightfoot.
