Joseph "Bart" Scott

Joseph "Bart" Scott, age 73, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away, October 11, 2022, at home with his family. He was born June 7, 1949, in Jackson, MI, the son of Joe & Julianne (Beissel) Scott of Chelsea, MI. On August 16, 1975, he married the love of his life, Catherine Podbielski, she survives.  Joe was a devoted and faithful husband of forty-seven years. He retired from the Ann Arbor School System in 2005, where he was a painter. Joe loved to go fishing and had a very unique sense of humor that included teasing his grandchildren. He was a loving father to his three daughters and that love poured over to his grandchildren and extended family. Joe was a humble man and loved by many.  In addition to his wife Catherine Scott, he is survived by three daughters, Sally (Andrew) Greenham, Heather (Anthony) Russo and Brooke (Shawn) Cuthbert; nine grandchildren, Alex, Mitch, Anna, David, Lexi, Addison, Autumn, Emily and Shawna; his siblings, Jane (Ken) Callison and Basil (Sandy) Scott; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Julianne Scott.  Funeral Mass will be held 12:00 PM Monday, October 17, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 506 N. Union Street, Tecumseh, MI, with Fr. Daniel Wheeler presiding. Joe will lie in state at St. Elizabeth on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass. A luncheon will be held at the St. Elizabeth Parish Hall following the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Elara Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of J.
