Jose Angel Leon

Jose Angel Leon, age 85, of Toledo, OH, passed away, November 11, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest of Ohio. He was born August 29, 1936, in Marion, Texas, the son of Pilar & Bergina (Tristan) Leon.  He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. Jose retired from Ford Motor Co., Maumee Stamping after over 28 years of service.  He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Gardener Leon; three sons, Richard (Jennifer) Leon, Rodney (Pamela) Leon and Mark (Dani) Leon; two stepsons, Randy (Sarah) Gardner and Ryan (Susan) Gardner; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; his siblings, Helena Gomez, Delia (Raymond) Duran and Pilar "Pete" (Andrea) Leon, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Pilar & Bergina Leon; his stepmother, Ruth Leon; half sister, Irene Leon; and many other family members to numerous to name. Jose loved his cars and truck, flea markets, garage sales, dancing, and meeting with his military friends.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Randy Santiago officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard.    Viewing & Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at J.
