John Ray Holly

John Ray Holly, 58, of Adrian passed away into the arms of his Heavenly Father on June 22, 2021, after battling lymphoma and COVID-19.  John was born on August 18, 1962, in Tecumseh, MI, to Rev. David and Lois Holly.  He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1980, where he played alto saxophone in band and held the role of drum major in the marching band. He went on to attend Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, where he studied church music and played his alto saxophone in Moody Concert Band.  John worked for a combined total of 37 years at United Bank and Trust and Old National Bank, where he made many close friends and impacted the community. He was a thriving member of Grace Bible Church in Tecumseh, where he served the congregation in numerous ways over the course of his entire life.  He married Stephanie (Harnden) Holly on December 18, 1993, in Tecumseh, and their daughter Katrina was born on July 23, 1998.  John loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, gardening, yard work, and getting really tan in the process! Perhaps most of all, he loved quality time with his family. He, Stephanie, and Katrina took several vacations together over the years in which they made some of their favorite memories together: hiking, deep-sea fishing, swimming at the beach, riding roller coasters, and taking pottery classes, to name a few.  He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Holly; daughter, Katrina Holly; mother, Lois Holly; brothers, James (Tammy) Holly and Jerry Holly; and nephews and nieces, James (Joy) Abbott, Jr., Joshua (Shelley) Holly, Jaclynn (David) Das, Jeremiah (Vicki) Ruttkofsky, and Matthew (Ashley) Ruttkofsky with their families.  He was preceded in death by his father, David Holly, and sister, Joanna Abbott. The visitation will be held at Grace Bible Church on the corner of M-50 and Carson Hwy in Tecumseh on July 10, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the funeral immediately following at 11:00 AM.
