John A. Hernandez

John A. Hernandez of Blissfield Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025 at Spring Creek nursing facility in Adrian Michigan. John was 69 years old.  John was born in Albion, Michigan to Abelardo (Flash) Hernandez and Helen White Hernandez on October 21, 1955.  John was a graduate of Blissfield Highschool in 1973. He attended Michigan State University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Adrian College. He was a District Coordinator for AFLAC for 35 years in Lenawee and Jackson counties.  His hobbies included professional fireworks (licensed pyrotechnition with Colonial Fireworks), walking, tennis, harmonica (member of Turning Point Band, First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh), and most of all playing with his grandchildren.  John loved to volunteer and help others.  He was a Member and President of the Blissfield Jaycees, Rotary club of Blissfield, Board of Directors for Community Action Agency organization in Adrian, MI, Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of both Lenawee and Jackson counties, and President of HOLA (Hispanics of Lenawee).  John is survived by his wife, Laura, of Blissfield. His son, John and Emily, of Tipton, and their daughter, Carita, of Blissfield. Grandchildren Jace, Julianne, Rayna, Zarijah, Rowan and Asher.  John is also survived by his sister, Nidia and Jim Wolf of Albion Michigan. His brother Tom and Ann Hernandez of Forest Grove, Oregon. His sister in law Annick Hernandez of Tecumseh, Michigan. John's sister Ana and Mark Ahlenius of Lombard Illinois, and several nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.  John was preceded in death by his parents, Abelardo and Helen, and his brother Ralph.  A Celebration of life will be held on September 6th 2025 from 1-4pm at Life's Little Moments Event Centre 6370 Palmyra Rd Palmyra, MI.  Arrangements with Purse Funeral Home.  www.PurseFuneralHome.com
