John L. Butler

John L. Butler, age 83, of Ypsilanti, MI, passed away, May 15, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born September 17, 1937, in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Leo & Helen Butler. On July 26, 1958, he married Marie Newland, she survives.  He was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Ypsilanti.  In addition to his wife Marie, he is survived by his children, Brenda (Ed Sr.) Schneider, Brian (Sherry) Butler, John E. Butler and Kevin Butler; grandchildren, Sam, Eric, Travis, Nikole, Ed Jr., Justin, Bobby, Mike and Mickey; fifteen great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mary Richie and Geraldine Hall.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerry Butler; one granddaughter, Kaylin Brown; and three sisters, Cathy Patterson, Anna Reece and Martha Biggs.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2021, at First Wesleyan Church, 1646 E Forest Ave, Ypsilanti, MI 48198. (PRIVATE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICE) Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. Viewing & Visitation will be on Wednesday May 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the First Wesleyan Church, 1646 E Forest Ave, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.  Arrangements entrusted to J.
