Jerry E. Galilei, age 78, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Preceded in death by parents Sofia and Anthony Galilei. He is also preceded by Brother Michael Galilei, Sister-in-law Vicki (McKinney) Galilei and Granddaughter Madison Morgan Alumbaugh. Born February 28, 1943 to Sofia (Carfagna) and Anthony "Tony" Galilei. Jerry grew up in Columbus, Ohio and was an OSU Buckeye through and through. He served in the U.S. Air Force at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota. Jerry was employed as a Supervisor with Ford Motor Co & Rouge Steel. For many years prior to his promotion to Supervisor, he was a Union Representative. Jerry held dual citizenship of Italy and the USA., and he was a life long member of the Byron Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his children, David "Tony" Galilei of Byron Mich, Melissa "Alicia" Galilei of Haslett Mich; Grand children Sergio Ga lilei, Nina Galilei, Trace Alumbaugh; Great granddaughter Ava Seigle; Brother Christopher Galilei, Sister Therese (Donald) Roush and Sister-in-law Beverly (Mike) Phillips;  Nieces Meghan (Erik) Troyer, Michelle Roush and nephew Mario Roush; Great nephews Eli and Brayden Troyer. Also survived by Uncle Frank "Gish" Galilei, Aunt Betty Jo (Galilei) Lapenna, Aunt Mary Lou (Galilei) Miller and many cousins and friends. Jerry will be laid to rest in Holly, Michigan at the National Military Cemetery with close family friend, Reverend Lawrence Sefa officiating. Due to Covid, services will be held at a later date.
