Obituary

Jean Ellen Smith age 102 passed away peacefully July 29, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 12, 1920, the daughter of Howard and Margaret (Ingersoll) Brooks.
She operated Jean’s Beauty shop for forty plus years. We will remember her for her love of the American Legion Auxiliary, card playing, sharing her beautiful flower gardens with her friends and family, and all things birds.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Turk) Griffin and Mary Verrier; 3 grandchildren, Jeanelle Faulkner, Frank and Bob Verrier; close friend Nancy Fisher, and eight loving great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rip; brother, Allen Brooks; son in law, Eugene Verrier; grandson, Clark Griffin and granddaughter, Lynelle Griffin.
A private graveside service at Macon Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Purse Martinez Funeral Home.
