James Edward Turpening

James Edward Turpening, Sr., age  76, of Adrian, MI, passed away, August 30, 2021, at Hospice of Lenawee. He was born January 1, 1945, in Liberty Center, OH, the son of Edward & Ruth (Dunmire Turpening. James is survived by his children, James Turpening Jr., Jonathan Turpening, Tammara Martin, Jake (Jennifer) Turpening and Kimberly Gifford; several grandchildren; his siblings, Mary Moore, Lucille Goodman and Margaret Turpening; and numerous nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his life partner, Virginia Gifford; his parents, Edward & Ruth Turpening; one sister, Bonnie Moore; and one brother, John Turpening.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 4, 2021 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI.
