Jack Lavon Staley, age 60 of Onsted, Michigan passed peacefully on November 17, 2022. He had been battling cancer for over 2 years. His wife of 32 years and his younger sister Heidi were with him at the time of his passing. Jack was born on May 12.1962 to Barbara (Cumbo) and Jack Staley in New Bern North Carolina. Jack graduated from Onsted High School class of 1980. Jack married Tammy Justice in September 1990, she survives and they celebrated 32 years of marriage. Jack was an accomplished drywaller and finisher for 25+ years. He attended North Rome Baptist Church in Onsted and was an active member of the choir and occasionally taught adult Sunday school Jack will be remembered as a gentle, loving man who always had a smile. He loved people and having them around him. He was an ex-Marine, avid coon hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. Jack thrived when he was outside enjoying nature. Jack is survived by his wife Tammy, and two sons Preston Staley of Canton, and Quentin Staley of Ypsilanti. His sisters Heidi (Dave) Rathke and Jackie (Dean) Dyer. Many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his Mother Barbara (Cumbo) Staley, Jack, and Phyllis (Stevens) Staley. Jack has chosen to be cremated and there will not be a formal funeral at this time. Instead, in the spring around his birthday, we will have a celebration of life.
