Ian Richard Bannister

Ian Richard Bannister age 20, of Adrian, MI, beloved son, brother, father and grandson went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18th, 2022. Ian was born March 28, 2002 in Adrian, MI the son of Donald and Heidi (Abner) Bannister .He attended Lenawee Christian School and Onsted High School. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Adrian, MI. Ian had a great sense of humor and was always making jokes and laughing. He was a devoted father to his infant son, Malachi. He was a friend to many, deeply cared for others and was always available to give you a hug. He gave the most amazing hugs. He enjoyed serving at Faith Baptist helping with the Children's ministries and sang with the praise and worship team. He enjoyed reading about history and having deep philosophical discussions. Ian was a bright light in this dark world and he will be greatly missed. Ian is survived by his loving parents, Donald and Heidi Bannister of Adrian; two brothers, Allen Bannister and Christopher Bannister of Adrian; infant son, Malachi Bannister of Adrian; love of his life, Keionda Hampton of Adrian; grandparents, Richard and Lynn Bannister of Adrian and Gary and Nancy Abner of Tipton. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Elizabeth Abner; uncles, David Abner and Douglas Bannister. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Faith Baptist Church, 3625 Hunt Road, Adrian, MI 49221.  Visitation will also take place Thursday from 11:00 A. M. until the time of service. Arrangements with J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI.  In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to the Ian Bannister Memorial to benefit his son Malachi Bannister. Donations can be made to the Ian Bannister Memorial at any TLC Community Credit Union location.
