Howard D. Fenner

Howard D. Fenner, age 102, of Adrian, MI, passed away, July 2, 2022, at the Michigan Veterans Home in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born November 26, 1919, in Lyons, OH, the son of Rufus & Edith (Ritchie) Fenner. On November 13, 1943, he married Elizabeth Grieshaber, she preceded him in death.  After his father's passing, Howard took over his family farm. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Howard was employed by Ford Motor Co. for over 20 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Adrian, MI. Howard belonged to the "Our Gang Camping Club". Following his retirement, Howard and his wife Elizabeth wintered in Zephyrhills, FL.  Howard is survived by his children, Donna (Tom) Gawlak, David (Connie) Fenner, Russell (Carol) Fenner and Ronald (Loralee) Fenner; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.  In addition to his wife, Elizabeth Fenner, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Irene Minnick; two brothers, Wyo & Kenneth; one younger brother; and a sister in infancy.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2022, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Military Honors will be performed by the Tecumseh American Legion & VFW Honor Guard Team. Viewing and Visitation will also be on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI.
