Gregory J. DeClercq

Gregory J. DeClercq, age 68, of Adrian passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 15, 2022. He was born November 1, 1953,  in Tecumseh, MI, the son of Harold and Florence (Cool) DeClercq.  On August 9, 1975,  he married Joann Strand.  She survives. Greg was a graduate from Tecumseh High School. After High School he went right into the work field and was at same location for almost 50 years retiring from Georgia Pacific. In his free time he loved hunting/shooting, archery, western movies and spending time with family. In addition to his wife Joann, he is survived by his sons, Greg L. (Amy) DeClercq,  Dan (Jen) DeClercq; daughter Amber (Chris) Hentz; 7 grandchildren Bailey, Preston, Peyton, Dani, Justice Logan and Baby Hentz; sister, Deb (Cliff) Arnett; 2 brothers, Joel DeClercq, Steve DeClercq; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Florence. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Erik Hickman officiating.  Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 and one hour prior to services Saturday, in the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to HOSPICE OF LENAWEE in honor of Gregory. The family would also like to say a huge Thank You to Hospice of Lenawee for all their help and care during their time with Greg.
