Gordon Allen Crane

Gordon Allen Crane, 81 of Manitou Beach, took his final swing at life on October 16, 2020 under the care of Hospice, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Born on July 4, 1939 in Palmyra, MI, he was the son of the late Floyd and Edna (Kafer) Crane. He married Penny Anderson on March 22, 1996 in Paducah, KY. and she survives. Gordon was a 1957 graduate from Blissfield High School. After graduation, he served our country in the Air Force where he worked as a jet mechanic. He then worked in the marina business, while he spent more than 50 wonderful years at his home on Round Lake building a family. Gordon was a friend to all, loved to take boat rides, tell stories, and have family surrounding him. In his years of retirement, he spent countless hours enjoying cooking the best grilled chicken, golfing, and deer camp with the boys. He also spent time riding his Harley, bass fishing, drinking a good scotch, and hosting amazing cook outs for all. If the lake could tell stories! Gordon also took great joy in spending the past 17 winters at their home on Lake Istokpoga in Florida. Surviving in addition to his wife Penny, are his children, Kim (Butch) Griewahn, of Addison, MI., Todd (Ashley) Crane, of Manitou Beach, MI., Shelly (Phillip) James, of Gaylord, MI., Shannen (Steve) Jewell, of Addison, MI., and Julie (Rick) Mock, of Las Vegas, NV., sisters Marlene (Ron) Smith, of Ottawa Lake, MI., Colleen (Mike) Angevine, of Riga, MI., and brothers Lawson (Beverly) Crane, of Blissfield, MI., Mark Crane of Palmyra, MI. Gordon was an amazing grandpa of 14 and a great-grandpa to 13. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Jingles. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lenawee Humane Society.
