Gloria Jean (Russell) Putten

Gloria Jean Putten (Russell), age 77 of Adrian, MI passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Gloria was born on July 15, 1942 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Eugene Russell and Ida Mae Russell (Watts). Gloria married Roosevelt Putten in July of 1988. During Gloria’s life, she worked for the state of Michigan and later retired from Siena Heights University. Gloria enjoyed cooking and serving others, as well as dancing, listening to the blues and spending time with her family. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents; Eugene and Ida Mae Russell, husband; Roosevelt Putten, brothers; Larry Russell and Randall Russell, sisters; Earlean (Lloyd) Brown (Russell), Joyce Shead (Russell), Ora-Lee Brown, and Rose A. Lofton, and a step-son, David Putten, SR. Gloria is survived by her children, Daphane Russell, Sandra Henagan, Orlando (Catherine) Russell of Ann Arbor, Bryce Russell, and Cedrick (Valerie) Putten, her step-children;  Debra Putten of Atlanta, GA and Tina Putten as well as her sisters; Angela (Keith) VanZandt, Roxanne Lofton, Susie Lofton, and Irether Lofton of Ypsilanti, MI, brothers; Lawyer Lofton and Tommie Lofton, and uncle Willie (Julia) Watts of Lambertville, MI. Gloria is also survived by her 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. A Viewing & Visitation (walk through) will be on Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.  Graveside Services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI.  With sincere appreciation, we wish to thank our many friends for their expressions of kindness during our bereavement for our loved one.
