Galen T. McMunn

Galen T. McMunn died peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Jackson Henry Ford Allegiance Health Hospital on February 24, 2022.  He was born February 17, 1941 to Harold and Nina Mc Munn in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating from Onsted High School in 1958 he joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. The majority of his working life was spent in sales: insurance, auto, and real estate. He was a very active member of Civitan from 1968-1986.  Galen was an adventuresome extrovert who loved people. His last four years were spent at the Jackson Medical Care Facility where he positively engaged with staff and residents to the very end. The family is grateful for the excellent care he received there.  He is survived by his sons Terry (Peggy) McMunn of Onsted, Scott McMunn of Swanton, Ohio, his former wife, Susanne McMunn of Tecumseh, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kay S. Whitcher. Viewing & Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI.  Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI, with Pastor Evans Bentley officiating.
